My Faith

I believe in one God, the creator of the universe. Because of sin, the wrong things we do, we are separated from God, who is without sin. Therefore He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the penalty for our sin. The wages of sin is death, we deserve to die, but Jesus took our sin upon Himself, and died in our place. God then resurrected Him from the dead, giving Him victory over death and hell. When we put our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and accept his gift of salvation we are forgiven our sins and given eternal life. We now have God's Holy Spirit living in us to enable us to overcome sin. Through faith we are dead to sin, but alive in Christ. When He was crucified it was as though our fleshly nature - that which desires to sin - was also put to death. When he arose to eternal life it was as though we were born again into His family, and have the same life within us. When we die we will go to be with Him in glory. Throughout our earthly lives His Spirit works in us to make us more like Jesus. The fruits of His Spirit in our lives are love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. He wants us to love Him and to show love to other people.

If you would like to know God, as I do, simply pray - that means talk to Him. Tell Him you are truly sorry for the sin in your life, and ask Him to wash you clean. (Sin is anything that does not please God, even living your life without Him is sin). Thank Jesus for dying in your place, and ask Him to make you a child of God. Choose to let Him be in charge of your decisions from now on. Turn from sin and acknowledge that you are a new creation, no longer a slave to sin. Get yourself a Bible and read more about God and how He wants you to live. Try to find other Bible-believing Christians to fellowship with.
